Lake Agro initiated its integrated sugarcane and sugar manufacturing project in Tanzania in 2021, associated with 16,000 hectares of land.
634 hectares of sugarcane have been planted using Centre Pivot, Semi-solid and Drip irrigation systems. The development is supported by 17 km of 33KV High Tension Power Line and further bulk-water infrastructure.
The current plant capacity is 2,500 TCD and is expandable to 3,500 TCD. Bosch Projects (Pty) Ltd of South Africa and Booker Tate Limited of the United Kingdom are the international consultants supporting the project.
