About Our Chairman
Ally Edha Awadh
Founder & Chairman
Mr. Ally Edha Awadh is the Founder and Chairman of Lake Group. Born and raised in Tanzania, he completed his primary education locally before pursuing various jobs that shaped his work ethic and entrepreneurial mindset.
Through his vision, perseverance and strategic leadership, Lake Group has grown into one of East Africa's leading private-sector conglomerates, with a footprint spanning 10 countries and industrial operations contributing to employment and economic empowerment across the region.

The Entrepreneurial Journey
Moved to Canada
Relocated to Canada to pursue higher education, developing a global perspective on business and opportunity.
First Business
Launched his first business in the clothing industry. The success of that venture helped him recognise his entrepreneurial potential and pursue larger opportunities.
PBPA Licence
Acquired a licence from Tanzania's Petroleum Bulk Procurement Agency (PBPA), laying the foundation for what became Lake Energies.
Lake Energies
Lake Energies became the cornerstone of the diversified Lake Group, growing into one of East Africa's leading energy and industrial conglomerates.
