Sustainability

Lake Group's commitment to environmental responsibility, clean energy transition and reducing our operational footprint.

Energy for Africa. Responsibly.

As a major energy and logistics company operating across 10 countries, Lake Group recognises its responsibility to operate in a manner that minimises environmental impact and contributes to sustainable development across Africa.

Our sustainability strategy covers environmental stewardship, clean cooking energy access, land reclamation, waste management and progressive decarbonisation of our logistics fleet.

LPG, a core business of Lake Gas, plays a critical role in East Africa's clean cooking agenda, reducing dependence on charcoal and firewood, improving indoor air quality and reducing deforestation.

Clean Cooking Transition

Lake Gas supplies LPG across 6 countries, helping households switch from charcoal to cleaner cooking. Every cylinder sold reduces CO2, indoor air pollution and deforestation pressure.

Spillage Prevention

Petroleum transport operations are run with a zero-spillage ambition. Tankers are regularly inspected and maintained at the Group's own workshops in Kibaha, Kigamboni and Morogoro.

Quarry Stewardship

GCCP's quarry at Lugoba supplies aggregate for the Group's concrete operations. We are committed to responsible extraction and to progressively rehabilitating worked-out areas.

Fleet Efficiency

Ongoing investment in newer, fuel-efficient trucks, reducing per-kilometre emissions across our 1,600+ vehicle fleet while improving service reliability.
